What Founders Want
12% of participants were from all-female founding teams.
34% of participants were from mixed-gender founding teams.
Whilst this gives us a good gender split, this is not representative of the current funding market, which is far more male-dominated.
It’s also worth noting that we did not ask the gender of the person answering the survey, meaning the responses in the mixed-gender category could have been given by a person of any gender. The assumption here is that founding teams will have a shared vision for what they’re looking for in a venture fund.
56% of participants have raised less than €500k at their current startup
27% of participants have raised over €1m at their current startup
The majority of survey responses were from founders with startups based in the UK (44%) and Ireland (25%).
A further 17% were from the rest of Europe, 9% were from North America, and 3% from Asia.
Just over a third of our respondents have been involved in raising venture capital at a previous company.
